There are heaps of wedding venues in Vancouver to suit all kinds of styles and moods. In our years as a wedding videography team, we’ve been lucky to film ceremonies and receptions at many of the following locations and love when couples find something particularly special that checks all the right boxes in their wedding planning. The following is a curated list of indoor and outdoor locations, both large and small venues, and what we personally consider to be the best wedding venues in Vancouver (and beyond) that you need to check out. For lovers of botanicals and the unconventional, the Bloedel Conservatory in QE Park can host private events such as intimate wedding ceremonies and cocktail receptions. Time slots are somewhat limited but if you’re willing to get creative with your wedding planning (for example, having your ceremony in the morning and your reception elsewhere in the afternoon), enjoy this very special part of Vancouver’s history.

Brix & Mortar

One of the most popular wedding venues in the city for small weddings (and for good reason). Brix & Mortar features a unique glass-covered courtyard where many couples have hosted intimate ceremonies as well as an indoor dining hall and two patios. A great option if you’re looking for an all-in-one, no fuss type of venue that will take are of most everything you need for your ceremony and reception.

Cecil Green Park House

Tucked away at the University of British Columbia is Cecil Green, a beautiful wedding venue that offers a number of different options for your ceremony and reception: an exclusive private garden, covered terrace, and its classic house. It can accommodate a full seated dinner on the covered terrace for up to 110 guests or in the house for up to 150 guests. Food is offered via Westcadia Catering.

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

For couples envisioning a grand, classic, and luxurious ballroom style wedding, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is all aces. There are various spaces to choose from for both your ceremony and reception at this venue but the Pacific Ballroom happens to be the most popular option for opulent, show-stopping weddings and those who want to dance their faces off on the large and permanent wooden dance floor.

Luxurious and contemporary, the Fairmont Pacific Rim is perfect for couples wanting that rare mix of the natural and modern in one perfect package. There are two ballrooms to choose from and a dedicated staff that will work closely with you to ensure your food and beverage needs are met.

Hycroft Manor

Owned by the University Women’s Club of Vancouver, Hycroft is a beautiful Edwardian mansion available for wedding rentals. Ceremonies are typically held outdoors amongst the stately columns, while receptions are hosted indoors in the ballroom with its hardwood floors, stained glass windows, and fireplaces. There are no other venues in Vancouver quite like Hycroft for those looking to celebrate in elegance and style.

The Permanent

Located in downtown Vancouver, the Permanent is another heritage venue that has recently been renovated and restored. The building’s interior is lit by a gorgeous 35 ft long and 20 ft wide stained glass skylight and the mezzanine also boasts some stained glass details. The owners have decided to keep the original vault door and many other neo-classical and art deco elements making this one of the most stunning indoor Vancouver wedding venues in the city.

The Pipe Shop

The Pipe Shop is a restored heritage building located on the waterfront in North Vancouver. It is 9,000 sq ft of rustic industrial goodness featuring original wood beams, polished concrete floors, and white walls throughout (including a gallery frame wall for added ambiance). The location doesn’t get any better being in the Shipyards area and right beside the modern Polygon Gallery. A ceremony at the Polygon with your reception at The Pipe Shop? Easy.

Polygon Gallery

The Polygon Gallery is one of the newest venues to the Shipyards area of Lower Lonsdale on the North Shore (my old stomping grounds)! Modern, minimalist, and full of interesting corners every where you turn, the Polygon features multiple areas. Our favourite has to be the Seaspan Pavilion with its floor to ceiling glass walls and an epic view of downtown Vancouver and Burrard Inlet, though the exhibition spaces themselves can make for some interesting footage depending on the current gallery exhibitions.

Roundhouse Community Centre

The Roundhouse Community Centre is Vancouver’s oldest heritage building located on its original site. Although it prioritizes art and culture events, if you can secure the Roundhouse for your wedding, you’re in for a real treat. Boasting concrete floors and wood beams, it’s the perfect blank canvas for hosting large events.

Sage at UBC

The Rose Garden for ceremonies and Sage Restaurant for receptions is by far the most popular wedding day pairing at UBC, and for good reason. Enjoy unobstructed mountain views while being surrounded by roses in bloom between June and September and the floor to ceiling windows as you enjoy dinner with up to 250 guests. Additionally, we love the various corners of the campus for all of our filming goodness: Pacific Spirit Park, anyone?

Modern industrial at its finest. The Settlement Building features exposed Douglas fir beams, concrete, large windows, and skylights. The venue also has event planners who can help you figure out suitable setups and vendors for this beautiful space.

Stanley Park Pavilion

Located in the ever beautiful and popular Stanley Park, the Stanley Park Pavilion is a great venue that is actually 4 different spaces that can host both indoor and outdoors weddings: the Lord Stanley Ballroom, the Tea Room, Stanley’s Bar & Grill, and the Formal Gardens. Wanting both an outdoor garden setting for your ceremony and a neutral blank slate for your dinner reception? The Stanley Park Pavilion has you covered.

This incredible studio in East Vancouver has opened up their blank slate of a space to small wedding rentals and, needless to say, I’m excited by the opportunities. Depending on your needs, you’ll likely want use of both the Production Area and Kitchen + Staging area to bring in your own caterer, host your guests, and fully enjoy the unique industrial venue of your dreams. The various installations throughout the space are chef’s kiss.

Vancouver Club

Boasting a number of different indoor and outdoor spaces including the classic Ballroom to the intimate Patio Garden, the Vancouver Club is perfect for couples wanting an elegant and thoughtful venue for their wedding day. Along with the exceptional cuisine served up by VC staff, you’ll be helped along by in-house wedding specialist, Katie Briscoe who is an exceptional coordinator and human.

Vancouver Convention Centre

The Vancouver Convention Centre offers three spaces for hosting weddings, ranging from 220 to 700 guests, and is perfect for grand celebrations where you’re greeted by the harbour and views of the North Shore mountains upon stepping out onto the terrace during golden hour. Forget the banquet hall and check out this spectacular building instead with its contemporary west coast architecture, high ceilings, and views.

Wallace Venue

The Wallace is the newest wedding venue to grace North Vancouver’s Shipyards area. It boasts history with a modern twist: located in the reconstructed Machine Shop with a terrace to beat all. Very much a blank slate kind of establishment, The Wallace requires that you work with a professional wedding planner to bring your planning ideas to life. Audain Art Museum • Whistler

Modern elegance set amongst nature. We can’t think of a better combination that speaks to our own aesthetic tastes and a location that has to be on every wedding venues list. This museum was designed by Patkau Architects of Vancouver and was privately built and gifted to the province of British Columbia by Michael Audain and Yoshi Karasawa. Be amongst the few to host your wedding there.

Bilston Creek Farm • Victoria

Imagine spending your wedding day surrounded in lavender, heritage apple trees, and warm coastal wood. You can find all of this and more at the stunning Bilston Creek Farm, located a 25-mins drive from downtown Victoria. And why not make a weekend of it, by staying in the historic farmhouse or a luxury glamping tent tucked into the forest. Farm-to-table dining is provided by Bramble by Bilston and you’re welcome to choose one of several spots on the property to host your ceremony and reception.

Bodega Ridge and Bodega Cove • Galiano Island

Even if you’re not planning a wedding there, these two gems on Galiano Island are definitely worth visiting for a full week of relaxation and enjoying the slow life. Both locations feature beautifully outfitted cabins with a modern twist: Bodega Cove being the newer of the two properties (and just up the road from Bodega Ridge) this venue is perfect for urban folk who appreciate a bit of luxury and a tastefully minimal aesthetic. Cedar panelling, a sleek standalone bathtub, and floor to ceiling windows. Cabin goals, indeed.

God’s Mountain Estate • Penticton

This wouldn’t be a proper wedding venues guide of the best wedding venues without mentioning God’s Mountain Estate. Secluded and set on a bluff overlooking Skaha Lake in the Okanagan Valley, God’s Mountain is unlike any other wedding venue in British Columbia. It’s almost unbelievable that a venue like this exists in our backyard, offering a unique destination wedding experience a few hours away from Vancouver by plane. It shares many of the qualities of other Okanagan venues but there’s something unique about its European / Mediterranean aesthetic, eccentric details, and attention to slow living. Perfect for couples wanting to wed, dine, and dance under the stars.

North Arm Farm • Pemberton

North Arm Farm is a family run 60-acres organic farm as well as a beautiful wedding venue perfect for those seeking a scenic outdoor setting. Mt Currie as a backdrop can’t be beat. You can either opt for long table al fresco dining on the lawn (rentals not included) or use the large open barn and patio bistro for all-weather events. A definite favourite on this wedding venues list.

Located in beautiful Squamish, the Sea to Sky Gondola is quintessential British Columbia: where the sea, mountains, and forests meet.
